for a one year stay. Those of you who think Watkins isn't all that...well...Whatever.
They gave up too much for Watkins and spent max on Johnson to think there is a choice that has to be made.
Johnson's number will decrease from the franchise tag # if they sign him. Watkins will get his as will Donald.
They will have to be creative with Donald. I think they do it with the guarantee.
We can have all of them...Quinn on the other hand...I hope he is in a concession-like mood.
Finally, based on what I read on this board, we get to roll over $5 million in our cap number. That will be huge.
This is the equivalent of advocating overpaying (by a ton) Austin because of the initial investment they made in him despite the fact it turned out he wasn't worth the initial investment.
I hope they've learned and McVay is smarter than that so we don't see this same kind of thing repeated with another player who clearly is not worth the kind of additional investment some believe he is based solely on a preconceived idea of how good he's supposed to be rather than how good he's actually turned out to be.
They rolled the dice on him, they lost. They should avoid losing again. But, if they can re-sign him without losing, i.e. to a very modest deal, then that would be fine.
