He IMO has stabilized the o-line.
I know everybody looks at Whitworth because of what preseeded him at left tackle but Saffold has been one of the top guards in football.
I can't say that about Whitworth when compared to other left tackles.
I'm sure that Whit has been an asset for Saffold because he's not having to clean up his messes like he had to for GRob, but when you see a stunt, Saffold is right there on the inside guy and stonewalls him.
He's also been very good in the run game and on screens getting to the second level and making key blocks.
He has looked a lot more versatile than in years past, a lot having to do with his health I'm sure.
Saffold has also been showing off that 500+lb bench strength with a punch that is rattling brains.
Rodger has only committed
two penalties and allowed
one sack with zero holding calls.
That is ALL PRO worthy!
