The result I think is immaterial: it was a "-EV play", as they might say in poker.
I liked McVay’s “boot on the neck” killer mentality attitude, ARF. So I approve of both decisions to go for it on those 4th and shorts.
McVay could already see how the Rams were dominating and just wanted to bury them.
The play calls for passes were a mistake, though. Coulda been a Ram rout if McVay had called running plays.
