Not a head scratcher.
We all agree that McVey has proven he is a good HC. He isn't a perfect, or even a great HC. Something is wrong, really broken, when this type of performance is missed by the HC. By his own admission this isn't the first time he's missed this.
McVey, like most performers, is doing what comes natural; he is playing to his strength. He admits he sees that the data tells him that more balance is needed. Good, he sees it. This should yield him maturing as a HC and growing into being a great HC.
He's not perfect but he is so much better than our previous HCs, and he shows real promise of getting better.
