1. Goff is starting that audible yelling at his offense on every snap. At some point, the pair of them, McVay and Goff, need to be ready to play straight up. It looks more like panic with all the last second dancing back and forth from end to end of the line making adjustments. Most of the time, their play calling and the tempo of their hurry up, and long sets is fine. However, in this game, and particularly on this drive to end the half, with the clock against you?
2. It's related to number one. They got distracted. There was so much commotion with play calling and sight adjustments, or whatever y'all want to call it during that last drive that it was distracting for everyone. Right down to a cut angle by TV where McVay is seen asking whether to take a timeout. Who is he knocking that around with? The OC?
And.....yep......pretty standard for my football theorem to take a time out right at 30 ticks or just under if you got them. Give yourself 3 good shots at paydirt, and ya kind of owe it to Gurley, and Saffold after they executed your perfect screen pass on that drive.....

hey.......they might not have scored there anyway, but these great situations to key on. They pay off down the line. Against better teams that could have been the difference maker.
nonetheless, they scored to end the half.........a big, big component, imo, to winning football games. score at the end of halves.
