WrastlersI found 'ALL' my old favorites on this website and some somewhat good bio's about what became of them. This is notable because, (and I'm not sure how it was in your area)... we didn't get the 'top' names (I came to learn later), but we still had 'World Champions'. The wrastlers that were big around here are very little known in other parts of the USA... like:
Pepper Gomez, Ray Stevens, The Alaskan, Cowboy Bob Ellis, Kinji Shubuya, Mitsu Arakawa, etc. I think the biggest name Fresno ever had back in THOSE days was Mr. Fuji.
Of course when Hulk came on the scene Fresno DID start getting the big names. I saw quite a few but never saw most 'legends' of the early years... like Rick Flair, Bruno Samartino.. whom I didn't even know existed until they were feeding pigeons in obscure small town public parks.
If you read any of the bio's, (spoiler coming up), the most 'amazing' thing you'll discover is many, maybe MOST, of those wrastlers even back to the early 60's, maybe even late 50's... did NOT give it up and have had matches in recent years. - JamesJM
