As a young kid growing up, there were three Rams games that tore my heart out more than any of the others. I think being young and having to hear about every loss in middle and high school from unempathic friends and enemies made it all more impressionable.
Nightmare Ram games:
1.) The Bills game you mentioned is surely one of them. It took a long time to get over it. Ironically, the Bills became my second favorite team over the years due to their futility and because they are in the AFC. I grew to feel sorry for them.
2.) The Patriots game in 1986 where Irving Fryer caught the hail Mary in the back of the end zone at the end of the game. Oh my did my "friends" rub that one in for years later.
3.) And finally, the Rams playoff game with the Redskins in '86 as well. Dickerson was caught from behind by Darrell Green and also fumbled three times.
Stuff of nightmares man!
