He will have some great games and even great years,
Provided everything around him is good. Good coaching and good players
Matt Ryan is similar in that any time things fall apart around him and there is adversity, his play drops off. You see Ryan this year with Jones and some other WRs banged up, not having the same results. You can go through the games and when Jones was healthier, he did much better and when he had some injury issues around him, he didn't perform as well. Ryan has been surrounded by great players so much during his career and it looks like Goff may be headed in the same direction.
I believe Goff will end up similar and be a QB in that range 5th best - 15th best for most of his career.
That doesn't mean he can't have great results. Heck Matt Ryan was MVP, but he isn't and will never be a top 5 QB. Good QBs having a great supporting cast and great coaching can get great results.
I think the Rams are going to be fine with him and have some playoff years ahead.
Your point about playing great in the clutch against a great defense and great team and leading the team to the win. He needs to do that to validate himself.
