I think play callers like McVay get in a rut and I think maybe McVay is in a rut calling plays right now.
He needs to understand the tendencies he's developed as a play caller and that teams are adjusting for them.
He will figure it out eventually but I think that is part of it.

That and also that Austin is just not that good. How long will people keep blaming coaches and coordinators for not knowing how to use the guy? He can't run pass routes, he can't catch, and he's so small that DBs can easily jam him at the line if they get a hand on him. You can only rely on trick plays for so long.
Tyreek Hill is light years better than Austin. I know it's tough to give up on a player. A lot of people had such high hopes for him but it hasn't remotely worked out.
The Rams could have drafted DeAndre Hopkins.
