The underlying premise of the thread bothers me.
There's the NFL QB who makes a few bad plays.
And there's the NFL QB who plays badly.
Goff makes some bad plays. All NFL QBs do.
Anyone watch Wentz bounce the ball off the turf one time and then overthrow it about 5 feet on another?
Anyone see Tom Brady miss some open receivers? Of course.
Every see Aaron Rogers get his feet tangled and fall down, untouched? I have seen all of the above.....and more than once.
I'm not saying Goff is Rogers or Brady. I'm saying that all QBs make bad plays; some of those incomplete passes, fumbles, INTs, sacks, etc. are their fault and some aren't.
Goff had a rough night, but other than a small sampling of bad plays he didn't play badly at all. He had WRs drop balls, he had Oline miss assignments, he had false starts that made down and distance needlessly difficult. But most of this was thanks to a Vikes D that came to play....in their own house....in a human noise machine that made simple plays much more difficult. And kudos to them.
Folks, we have us a good young Franchise QB. Let's rejoice about it and not try to pick him apart. He has a long way to go in his development; but so does this HC and (just as important) the rest of this team.
