Mike Zimmer is basically building the team that Jeff Fisher wanted to build. They both want to win with a strong defense and control the clock with a running game. They both also had Bradford play for them and get injured only to see Case Keenum have to step in.
The biggest difference I see with Keenum this year is he is playing in a dome. His biggest drawback is his arm, and we all saw what he did in bad weather. We also saw the bad mistakes he made playing from behind. That Vikings defense is keeping them in every single game and Case knows it.
I know Grits asked a few weeks ago why all the love for the Vikings. This is why. Well coached, and the staff knows the limitations of the players and they put them in positions to make plays and that defense is the best in the league. On top of that, that dome is a huge home field advantage, and they are setting themselves up for some homefield.
Zimmer and Fisher are both defensive minded coaches so it only makes sense they would try and build a team the same way, but they are more similar in this way.
Neither one will win a Championship!
The Vikings defense is disciplined and very good but not the best defense in the league and you cannot win the BIG one in today's game having such a wide imbalance.
You have to be solid on all fronts if you're not dominant in one unit, and that's where Minny falls short.
That play it close to vest and let you defense win it is your fathers game...not this game!
