not for fear of how it will be perceived but simply because at this time I am reticent, to say the least, to rock my own little ship.
I do not see Watkins, Woods, Goff, Gurley as very near Bruce, Holt, Warner, Faulk.. much less 'equal'. Not at this time anyway. Today's group is certainly getting the job done, no doubt about that... but it's 'different' to me... and mostly because I think the raw talent is less today, or perhaps just less honed.
Again, to illustrate.... and I'm even getting tired of 'me' saying this: Warner wasn't just 'accurate'... the term 'accurate' as applied by most basically means throwing a catchable ball... in tight spots yes, but 'simply' catchable... Warner hit receivers not just 'accurately' by that definition but went WAY beyond that... by 'hitting them in stride'. Many, MANY times not even the slightest stutter step or adjustment of hands, body position, NOTHING, on the part of the receivers.
It had the look of continuous motion of the thrown ball... simply continuing it's flight trajectory. It was.... mind boggling. - JamesJM
