During his 5 year losing tenure, one of my biggest criticisms of Fishface was the lack of half-time adjustments. Never saw it happen. Not even once.
From what I understand, a player revealed that Fishface & staff would say at half-time: We have the right game plan, you guys are just not executing.
I believe the exact quote when asked about Fisher's half-time adjustments, the player said: "We were told to try harder."
Enter McVay. We explode out of half-time every week, the Houston game being the best example.
Enter Phillips. Teams that start out the game running on us get shut down in the second half.
A combination of these stellar coaches making adjustments at half time has lead to some blow outs
The lack of adjustments by Fishface also lead to some blow outs.
