I liked what I saw of Justin
He runs a bit upright, and he had the fumbling problems against Dallas; Furthermore, I am not sure that he's displayed the right stuff when it comes to doing all he can to be a complete player. If that were true, he'd have probably found his way on to special teams.
Brown's injury is a surprise, and I am not sure about MCLs. Anyone have some experience with that one?
As for Davis?
Well, it all starts up front, and if our success with the Whitworth 5 continues, I feel that almost any back will be successful.
I do have some interest in how Lance Dunbar's workouts, and practices have gone
Remember, the Dunbar kid is a veteran, and this has entered a more intense section of the season. Does McVay see an asset here that warrants being deployed over the former Trojan rookie?
It's the turnovers and silly penalties that gives me pause on Davis
A presnap move, a hold away from the play, losing the football.
To some degree there's faith here in Skip Peete. He's one of only 3 holdovers from the Fisher clan. Fassel, and asst OL coach Dickerson. If Peete has any of the charm that has led to the renaissance of Todd Gurley, there's confidence that he has Justin Davis prepared to be an active participant. And kudos to Todd for keeping his position coach, and to McVay for allowing that to happen.
Peete's group has been doing well. Brown has gotten better every season, and there's some acknowledgment that Peete knew the wealth of Gurley's potential and was positive even in the grime moments of last season.
It's a real shame about Brown, but it does pose a real piece of adjustment by the staff. Brown was a real assest and provided the Rams with credible 3rd down blocking and relief.
Will they activate Dunbar? And Davis. Do they actually use him or is just a safety net?
Has Davis really improved as a blocker, and digested the system, and playbook?
the blitz pick up is true toolset.
what wrinkles do they come up with here to provide that aspect for the line....?
