This is why I asked.
I just have the "eye" test to go on. I don't know about footwork, mechanics, etc. I go by a feeling I get from watching them and watching their teammates react to them.
I just don't get what some (you included) see in Darnold and Rosen as NFL type QBs. And of course most NFL media gurus also say they are the top 2. Not disputing it; it's that for me when I watch them I personally don't see it. I see too much one good pass, one bad pass. One great play, one questionable play.
Wentz was dynamic and often took his team on his back. His team responded to him. Goff was very consistent and his numbers improved substantially year to year. Darnold is the opposite. I don't think he's playing as well in 2017 as he did in 2016. His numbers and rating are down; not better. Even if they were the same, I see that as a negative.
Same with Rosen. Rosen of 2015 is about the same as Rosen 2017. Slightly better completion %, nothing much different in TD to INT ratio. QB rating around the same.
When I don't see a QB grow and improve year to year, or within the same year; and when I just don't see the on field leadership or consistency, I have doubts. And I have real doubts about both Darnold and Rosen. But, that's just me. Clearly the guys who are paid to know, and guys like you who are really into this stuff have a different view.
That's why I ask.
