So the Vikings Marching and Chowder society is calling the Rams schedule weak and are proclaiming the Vikings tougher and a better team but how did the Vikings first 8 games pan out?
1. They beat the Saints at the very start of the season before the Saints offense got rolling as they are today and before the Saints defense started playing better as they are today. Do you think the Vikings could beat New Orleans in the Superdome today? Remember, after that first game people were really down on the Saints defense.
2. In Week two the Vikings were handily beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers who have had their own issues this season.
3.In week 3 the Vikings trounced the Bucs who have been the doormat of the NFC South this season and remember even the AZ Cardinals spanked the Bucs.
4. Week 4 they lost a close game to the Detroit Lions 14-7. Yes they held the Lions to 14 points but guess what? The Vikings could only muster one score themselves.
5. Week 5 they squeaked by the Chicago Bears 20-17. The Bears are hardly the Monsters of the Midway yet gave the mighty Vikings all they could handle.
6. Week 6. They beat the Greenbay Packers and this was made a much easier job for the Vikings as Aaron Rogers went out with a broken collar bone.
7. Week 7 the Vikings Beat the Jekyl and Hyde Baltimore Ravens. This was the week following Joe Flacco getting creamed by Kiko Alonso.
8. Week 8 the Vikings had that gargantuan task of beating the winless Cleveland Browns 33 to 16. At least both the Colts and the Giants who the Rams beat have each won a game.
So if the Rams win / loss record is being called into question then certainly the Vikings record has a few questions of its own.
