The schedule is setting up perfectly for us

This is a young team with a ton of potential. It is also a team on which many players are experiencing good football and winning for the first time or the first time in many years.

Normally, I would bemoan a schedule that has us playing such a murderer's row of good teams in a short stretch. But I think it is just what this team needs.

We have blown away two bad teams decisively. We have another flawed team coming up next week. IF we win that comfortably as well, there would be a temptation to relax and enjoy it a bit, maybe get a little big-headed leading to some dumb losses.

Instead, just when that is the greatest danger, we then face 4 of the top 6 NFC teams in 5 games. It is a ridiculously tough schedule. And just perfect to give Coach McVay legitimate reason to keep the team focused and improving. There is literally no time for a letdown as you play the NFC North leader, immediately followed by the NFC South leader, then the Cards, then off to the NFC East leader followed by our biggest division rival.

Mentally this is a perfect setup to keep a young talented team in their playbooks and working to improve each week. Hopefully by the time we get to the Titans and 49ers at the end we can rest some starters in prep for the playoffs. How long until Sunday?
