True, we will face some quality teams down the road.
But Hey! We’re now a quality team, too.
Here’s a couple of reasons for my optimism.
Wade’s D. They’ve only allowed 44 points in their last 4 consecutive games. That’s a mere 11 points per game. And the last 7 points allowed were in garbage time vs Giants with numerous backups on the field. THAT kind of scoring D will get the job done. Especially given how our O can now score.
Another good sign of things to come is the TE development. Both Higbee and Everett have flashed lately. We all know how much McVay loves to use his TE’s. I suspect that we will see more TE production in the 2nd half. If so, our O should be even more dangerous.
And then there’s Sammy Watkins. Don’t look now, but it kinda looks like he’s becoming a significant part of our O. A very difficult one to defend against, I might add.
Given all the other proven players already producing at a high level on this team, these “new” positive developments give me cause for optimism.
