I got into a debate with Pete Prisco when he blasted the Rams for taking Gurley. He's one of those "never take a RB in the first round" guys. He said he'd rather have Flowers than Gurley. We went back and forth a few times then he blocked me when he started looking bad.
Finding good RBs in the later rounds certainly has merit, but my argument has always been that when there's a transcendent talent like a Gurley, Fournette, Elliot, and now a Barkley, they are worth a first round pick. I don't believe in hard and fast rules for first round picks. A great player at almost any position is worth a first round pick.
