To be sure, the WR coach has done well, and McVay has gone out and vastly upgraded our WR corp, but I also think that Goff throws an above-average, catchable ball. Not just accurate as in "in the area", but a real accuracy of putting the ball where the WR seems to know where it's going to be and doesn't often have to adjust a lot to get it.
This especially stands out on his short passes, near or behind the LOS. I've seen some QB's of the past throw these ultra-lightspeed laser-comets from only a few yards away, and while the WR or RB can still catch it, there's a few milliseconds of adjustment and extra work to secure the ball, which limits the receiver's all-important task of making the first guy miss.
Goff may not yet be the Joe Montana of touch on the ball, but he's already well above-average and that excites me as he's only played (just now) one complete season of football, 16 games.
