According to Tony Corrente, it was the correct call. Again, that rule needs to be changed! Corrente said h didn’t maintain possession “through the ground” after the fumble, hence the touchback. IMHO, no conspiracy, just a terrible rule!
Here is the stupidest thing , the ball comes lose, but it never leaves his person, he regains control of the ball before he hit the pylon, then slams to the ground still in possession of the ball, the ball never hit the ground.
Same as Gurley last week....That never would have been ruled a fumble anywhere else on the field, so it happens on the goal line and it's considered a fumble???
The rule makes NO sense what so ever.
Hope to God they fix that BS rule by next year.
