That TD was a last straw. He struggled on the field.

McV stressed that it was not a disciplinary or off the field issue.

In fact McV stressed that he had issues on the field and he had been made aware of them before.

Coaches have ways of saying it without giving too much away if the player violated a rule or had off the field issues that interfered with performance. McV didn't go that route. He directly said there were issues with his play.

He was probably a scratch all week, but they didn't cut him until after it was clear Johnson could play.
