Hopefully lesson learned.
Not sure what was going on with the personnel and scheme but clearly looked like we played way too tight and the end result was par for the effort. Trying to find new stars each week and sharing the love with guys like Cooper is not the answer. The lack of chemistry and continuity with Watkins combined with Tavon's forced and limited roles as a legit WR threat or as quality route runner who runs perfect routes sorta got exposed to me.
Defense was much better but still too many bad angles on tackles. Certainly was not good enough to carry our offense.
McVay called this one too tight. He is young and to be expected but worthy of the criticism. Hope lessons learned. Several key payers were not clutch in their moments. All those wasted 1st down runs to a RB not Gurley and instead of passes. There seems to be times we are only trying to get a field goal based on the plays called. That needs to change quickly.
GZ missing and Gurley Fumble killed us _6 to 10 points. Gurley has to learn to keep the ball away from contact. I noted this tendency in college he does not switch sides. Kup tends to try to make catches spectacular ( should have ran out a couple plays where he seemed to chop his route a little too soon to go for catch and ultimately misses on some key opportunities. Highbee and Everett both seem to miss at least one ot 2 big plays per game. Would not feel so bad if they were more a part of the offense then they actually seem to be. They also have very bad misses with ball going thru thier hands. Again Tavon kills us with muffed punt and overall OL was decent but probably Goff was in a tighter pocket.

Rap on.
