... against Indianapolis. A quarter and a half maybe.
But ... I wasn't particularly overwhelmed with the Seahawks. Granted, Russell has really developed into a force. *Some people* can say whatever they want about him ... but he wasn't this player earlier in his career. I don't know if caretaker is the correct phrase ... but to pretend he wasn't doing as much riding as he was pulling in those early days is simply ridiculous. He was able to rely on that defense a lot.
It was kind of the Jim McMahon syndrome. McMahon made his share of plays for the those great Bears teams. But he also did a lot of leaning on that defense. Same with Russell. He knew he didn't have to put 30 on the board each week to win.
Whatever the case ... he has clearly developed into a great one now.
But ... the rest of that group looks sorta ragged. Seems like they have started playing on their reputation. Kind of like Mike Tyson did *after* Buster Douglas cleaned his clock.
