He averaged 5.0 yards per carry and never got close to that again. Like McVay, Martz knew how to create space.
His second best season was 2006 the last year Bulger played well, before his regression under Linehan, he averaged 4.4 yards per carry. Overall, when I look at the numbers, I feel while Jackson's yards per carry are good, it isn't eye popping.
I have always felt that Linehan is overrated, but he still is above average. I don't think the Cowboys are doing as well as they should with that offensive line.
But bottom line, there are orders of magnitude and while Linehan was a drop off, he is still pretty good on offense. Fisher on the other hand, even with Eddie George, couldn't do a bunch. Look at how Eddie George had so many seasons under 4.0 yards per carry. That guy was a stud and was just used as tackling practice. Every season but 2, was under 4.0.
