Austin is the anti Benny Cunningham

While Benny Cunningham can go 2 years and not score a touchdown, have 3 plays of 20+ yards, and pose actually no threat to the opposing defense, Austin has to be accounted for on every play.

The way he is being used is brilliant. He has some key runs in that game, but even more important is how he stretches out the defense horizontally and gives Gurley more space.

The 53 yard pass to Gurley was set up by the respect Austin has as a big play maker on the fake. Throw in the 48 yards rushing and I don't believe the Rams win that game without Austin today. He was simple a key contributor!

I never will understand how some people praise Cunningham so much and Austin gets so much abuse. It is a significant upgrade to use Austin in place of Cunningham. Significant.
