... was to do so only *after* he'd had the chance to 1.) get the graduate-level tutoring he needed (and deserved) from a coaching staff that understood the modern NFL game, and 2.) be surrounded by NFL-quality skill-position players.
It just so happens that McVay might be the *best* choice the Rams could have made for the former ... and Snead went out and rebuilt the latter in one off-season.
I said it again and again ... *if* Goff got those things and *still* struggled ... well ... then ... okay ... it would then be time to cut bait and look for another quarterback.
Well ... early results sure seem to indicate that the addition of those two things ... not to mention some rock-solid play by a formerly much maligned offensive line ... have made it clear Goff may well be on his way to becoming a top-notch pro. Maybe even ... dare I say ... great.
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go yet. And there are going to be valleys.
But the height of the peaks for this Kid QB are now coming into focus.
And I think it's fair to say he has a very, very high ceiling.
