When a quarterback doesn't feel as though he has to be *perfect* with every throw ... that his receivers will bail him out a time or two ... that is the kind of thing that builds confidence. He gets in a groove of just gripping and ripping - rather than guiding and hoping.
Now ... was the catch by Watkins great?
Well ... only about as great as a catch *can* be. In terms of just pure aesthetics ... it reminded me of a cross between the catch Don Maynard made against the Raiders in the 1968 AFL championship game and Dave Casper's 'Ghost To The Post' in the '77 playoffs.
But ... truth be told ... it was a *perfect* throw. Another six or so inches to Watkins' inside ... and it's likely gonna get knocked away.
