Blinkscout Game 2 Redskins ... close and strange game

I think the mistakes we made this game will be one time mistakes ... I am a fan of that.


The Great (rare in a loss)

1) The return of Todd Gurley. I've seen him come back from injuries and I was hoping to see him come back from a rough year ... in fact I banked two of my fantasy leagues on it. His acceleration was there, as was his "finish" ... though I'd like to see him break a few of those arm tackles that tripped him up.


The Good

2) Kupp on the goal line.

3) Sammy in open space turning on the jets. I'm going to be patient with his productivity.

4) Everett. Our first two draft picks are $$$. Can't believe he held onto the ball through that hit. Though ... Gerald ... turn to face the end zone and sprint. You should not have been caught.

5) Seeing 99 on the field.

6) Pass protection. Not great, but good enough.

7) The recovery in the third on run defense ... although we ate it again in the 4th. The fact that we can recover means we can adjust at halftime ... which is new ...


The Bad

8) Running out of DBs at the end of the game, so that a PS player guards the guy who catches the winning TD.

9) How many missed holding calls on Donald? Did they think there was a max they could call and after that they just stopped?

10) I hate being run on.

11) Goff staring down Kupp ... my hope is that this failure is so defined and profound in his memory that he never forgets eye discipline again.


The Ugly

12) 61 yard TD run at the end of the half.

13) Woods, lord. That was a rough drive for you, man.

14) Seriously, the 2 yard line? How about you just get the call wrong and rekick it ... if the rule book is insane and there's a crazy loophole, just ignore it.



I don't have more because everything else was kinda average.


College

15) A couple great games this last weekend ... dang. Texas USC and Florida tennessee.

16) New kid to watch on USC ... Uchenna Nwuoso ... 6-3 240 ... but man he can fly at rush LB. He makes Gustin look slow ... I have him in the first now at the back end of the top bunch (LC, HL, AK)

17) I also think Riley Ferguson of Memphis may be in the conversation, maybe only as a backup QB ... but still in it.

18) Violent runners. There are about 5 guys who are running with lesser known names but sahould make a name for themselves quick with their viciousness.

19) The big question ... can the CB crop produce a starter in the 3rd or 4th round? Right now I'd say no.
