If Fisher had stayed what would Goff be this year?
Thats the important question. Most say that Goff would not be doing nearly as well as he is under McVay.
And for that reason alone, it was clearly right that Fisher was fired. I believe thats actually incontrovertible.
Well I assume better than he was last year. Especially if the OL stayed healthy, which wasn't usually the case. It's pretty obvious that one big part of Goff's improvement this year is quite simply NOT being a rookie. That's one of the things McVay noticed about him. He was already reviewing last year and taking responsibility for the things he himself had to improve on. I would assume that's also why he spent time with the qb guru this off-season too.
I don't do magic sinkhole coaching analysis. Things are almost invariably grayer than the black and white some people tend to gravitate towards.
BTW I was just putting in a vote. Not getting into a long rehash of old issues. So we agree to disagree?
...
But I'm not quite sure what we disagree about.
If its that you think keeping Fisher on would have been fine. Then that would be a thing we could agree to disagree on. Is that it? Just wanted to know.
Just clarifying. I just think that Fisher was quite simply not as bad as he gets taken to be (actually virtually no one in NFL history is as bad as he's taken to be by many). I've given the reasons 1000 times (it has to do with the numbers 15 of 64). Now and then I put in a vote just so it's clear there are different views on these things. Either way I am perfectly happy with the new staff so far. They have some major tests to pass but I am confident in them.
...
No he was worse in his tenure with the Rams, than he gets taken for. He had his day but time had past him buy,
Buy the way virtually no one is as bad as taken to be ,how about Rick Kotie ????? LOL
