by "no bad or ugly on a winning Sunday", was that I was going to concentrate on only the good for now, while the victory glow was going.
Not that I couldn't think of any.
Later, I'm able to look more objectively at bad.
I was really worried about rust, and I wonder if it DID show in the running game. Or whether that's all there is.
Going to give it a little more time first.
At first I thought maybe they were still playing to stop the run and daring Goff to beat them, but apparently that wasn't the case.
The good side of that is that the pass offense looked good even when the Colts were trying to stop it.
Gurley had one run shortly before leaving when he cut left outside and picked up good yardage.
Otherwise he looks like the 2016 Gurley.
So far.
But McVay and defensive players have been bragging up on Gurley in practice. Maybe the HC can get this fixed and get it going.
Best,
