In 1996, Marshall Faulk had a 3.0 YPC and had only 587 yards in 13 games played.

In fact, Faulk never gained more than 4.1 YPC until he came to the Rams.

But coaching makes a difference.

Gurley never had a chance with the way Fisher had that offense structured. No space whatsoever. Now, I will say the eyes Gurley did not look like the same player since those first 4 games, but I believe opportunity creates confidence and energy and he will be much better.
