You know, if a team cut their OG for every time Donald made them look silly there wouldn't be many OGs left in the league.
Bosa is a special player who had some wins against Havenstein. Bosa makes a lot of RTs look stupid. That hardly makes Havs suspect or incapable. Rather it means that when playing Bosa, or some other elite pass rusher on the right side that TE help is needed. So what? That's completely normal for the NFL.
Our oline was subbed for early and its efficiency fell off a bit. No doubt. But a lot of those guys won't even be on the team (except for PS) by next weekend.
Cooper is our 5th WR; period. And Reynolds has to be the 6th. After this preseason there is no way he goes through waivers and lands on the PS. Rams will keep 6 WRs.
Also this hysteria by some over Goff I couldn't believe after I watched the film. Goof grief. Yes, he really flubbed that INT and it was like he couldn't decide where or whether to throw it and it came out like a wounded duck and off target. Pretty bad, which he admitted. But that is hardly the norm for his passes. Just a bad play. The fact that it was going to Watkins says a lot. I don't think Goff was sure exactly what Watkins was going to do. That Goff took full blame after thinking about it is not only the mark of a good leader but also mostly true. But I'd surmise that Goff just doesn't have any chemistry with Watkins yet. Otherwise he was accurate and throwing to the right guy at the right time. And while he probably should have seen Bosa, and should have held onto the ball, he was really whacked hard and stripped on a terrific play by a devastating edge rusher. So be it. He'll learn from it.
Plus, nobody mentioned some of the really good footwork and moving around in the pocket when Goff was rushed, surrounded, and was able to find Brown for a good checkdown completion and some yards. That was a really good play that showed me an awful lot.
And, our Oline blocked better than the previous 2 games for our RBs. And BTW, any competition between Davis and Greene has to be over. Davis is a find and he and Brown behind Gurley are quite good. Makes the Dunbar thing all the more questionable, including why they don't just do an injury settlement and move on.
If anything disappointed and surprised me it was our lack of pass rush coupled with poor secondary play. I continue to contend that Davis ought to start over Joyner (and I have been a Joyner cheer leader).
