I don't think that is a knee jerk reaction. He is scheduled to make $10 million dollars. If he can't make it through a season again or performs poorly, he is gone.
Can't be one of the highest players on the team and never play.
That said, if, and that's a big if, if he can play all season and play like he did in 2012/13, he and Donald will create ridiculous match up problems.
I agree with your assessment, and I believe playing primarily from a standing rush position will help him stay healthy.
It should, at least, alleviate the back issues he has had in the past.
