Neither Goff or Gurley have shown that they deserve to be paid at this point. For that matter, neither has Watkins given his health.

It's nice to have money set aside in anticipation of our players becoming great but that shouldn't come at the expense of players who have already proven that they are great.

Secondly, when the next round of players deserving big contracts becomes due, there will be a handful of players who already have big contracts that should be let go.
