Vince is the man; and he proved against Dallas, Tampa and against the Steelers in the 1979 Superbowl run!!!

Every Vince throw from 1979-1980 and 1982-1983 (except for 3 games) I have seen. Great arm. But, he also had the #1 pass blocking line in the NFL most of those games....so, he didn't have to throw off balance, he didn't have to set and throw in 2.3 seconds. Throwing from all different angles and body torques really shows off an NFL arm---ala Aaron Rodgers. And, Vince's body position was usually in correct throwing form (like in 7-7 in practice) because of that---meaning it was very easy for him to throw from a firm and set base. He wouldn't be as good in today's NFL with the longer release, and 2.3-2.7 second throws. No one ever said Vince had a golden arm like Bradshaw or Bartowski....however, they do say that about Goffer.

So, imo, the success of throwing is related to feet and hips and body position---and since QBs have to deal with pass rushes etc that put them in compromising positions, I will give Goff the 'arm talent' victory over Vince.

BY the way, why wouldn't you mention Everett? He had a lot more arm talent than Vince....and proved it in the 1989 Wk 12 against the Saints and the Div playoff against the Giants throwing from all positions in insane game situations.

Of course, I am probably wrong, again...darn that is no fun.
