I think Goff is a really "pretty" passer. Nice form. Beautiful ball. Stands tall. Good delivery. Plenty of velocity. Quick release. Good accuracy.

But when I think about what his father said (and I've read it from others) about how Goff is able to live with a lot of losing as he and the team start young and grow together and get better and better, then perhaps Goff was the perfect fit for the Rams.

The Rams were not going to suddenly turn around under Fisher; they were'n't going to draft a QB and suddenly start winning. Too many holes, too poor of development, too young.

Do you go get a guy who has known nothing but winning all of his life and put him in a losing proposition; one that he can't fix by himself? Getting beat up game after game and as Gurley felt, trying to run a Junior High School offense that the winning QB knows is a loser?
Or do you get a guy who knows how to get up off the mat, dust himself off, stay positive, stay confident, and stay the course?

From that standpoint I think Goff brings a real advantage for the Rams.

And, as I've said: I've re-watched ALL the games he played in for the Rams a couple of times (if not more) each. He is much more athletic and able to keep plays alive than he's given credit for. He always keeps his eyes downfield. Generally speaking, when a guy is open, he doesn't miss. He never looked scattered or lost even when he was getting pummeled. Never looked disgusted when Recievers dropped well placed balls or another stupid penalty negated a good play.

I'm easily ready to give this 22 year old plenty of rope; way more than just 2016 and 2017. Naturally he needs to be much improved for 2017; but everyone who has written or spoken about him say that from leadership, to physical size, to game understanding he is much improved already. He's just a more mature, together young QB who clearly knows what he's doing.

The Rams did well also in bringing in a couple of QB whisperers. An HC who was a stellar High School QB understands the mentality; his work with Cousins is undeniable. And then add in LeFleur and Roman with tons of offense and QB experience and you have a competent team around Goff. Hopefully some of the offense playmakers they've brought in will give Goff an opportunity to find open Receivers that hold on to the ball and run proper routes.

I plan on having a lot of patience with Goff as long as I see a steady upward trend over a several game span. If I was forced to place a bet, I'd bet on Goff.
