Two years ago handing him the ball was a good idea. Cuts down on him running the wrong route, doesn't play to his weakness of not being able to catch the ball away from his body and doesn't force him to read the defenses.

I think McVay has the right idea. Send him long. As a defense you have to respect his speed, there's not much to it and it will open up spaces underneath. When the D is back on their heels, throw him a slant.
