I have never seen an NFL player sign a lifetime contract on his second deal.

Its unprecedented and not a good idea IMO.

I'm hearing its gonna take awhile for this deal to get done, they're off on total value and language of the deal.

Not as imminent as reported.

It would be pretty wild if AD signed a contract extension of 10 years or what ever lifetime means...

I think the longest NFL contract extension ever offered was Michael Vick's ?

DEC. 24, 2004 Vick, 24, became the highest-paid player in the N.F.L. yesterday, when he agreed to a 10-year contract through 2013 that could be worth as much as $130 million, according to an executive with an N.F.L. team who had knowledge of the deal.

It includes a $37 million bonus, outstripping the $34.5 million that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning received with his seven-year, $98 million deal last spring.

"This is big," said Vick, who is in his fourth season. "I'm very excited to know that I'll be here and have an opportunity to bring the Super Bowl to this city. The only thing that matters is winning football games, and that's the only thing that I'm concerned about. It's not being the highest-paid guy in the N.F.L., because that doesn't mean anything if you don't win a football game."
