Again this comes down to leverage

Olsen is old, and he wants to stay a Panther. That means he has very little to gain by holding out.

When you have no choice, might as well say "I'm doing it for the team" and get some love from the fans and media.

edit: I should add that I agree he's a beast. He's just an old beast.
