Just my 2 cents...but...
It's not just the coach though. I mean I assume McVay is a solid offensive coach. But there are other advantages over 2016 too. They're not in the middle of a move. They aren't starting a rookie qb anymore (or his #2 caliber placeholder). The OL has been upgraded. The OL coach is a very good one. The 2 main receivers (Kupp, Woods) are more reliable (they're not just replacing Britt, they're replacing the combo of Britt and Quick). Gurley appears to be re-dedicated. Guys who were rookies last year may mature into something more this year (Higbee? Thomas? Cooper? No promises here, just a thought.) The schedule is not as tough.
If Gurley and Goff can both come through even just decently this year, they're just better. IMO. Or that's my vote anyway.
