While I can't state that Goff isn't a bust, I do believe that any proclamation that it is so based on last season is premature. First of all, he came out early, is super young and his college system was totally different than the Boras "scheme." He wasn't ready to start and sat for 9 games. Then, when everything went bad and it was obvious Fisher's job was on the line they threw him in hoping that he could pull a rabbit out of a hat. By then, our OL was in shambles. Our receivers would drop everything thrown their way. Our best RB was getting hit in the backfield and struggling. The kid had no chance. But, now we have a new offense minded HC who does know how to scheme. He knows how to make a QB look good. He signed two new starters for our OL and moved two others to solidify the blocking. He drafted and signed new receivers who can catch a pass. And he's working with that very expensive clay molding Goff in his system. Using quick hitters and high percentage passes to set up rubs and bombs. There is every reason to believe that he'll play a lot better. How much better? Dunno. And neither does anyone else. But, we aren't trading for a starting QB. We have one. A very talented one. I think he'll wind up better than Cousins. Think Eli Manning.
