Sorry, no deeply opinionated controversy in this post...

Been thinking about what I'll enjoy most when the Ram's turn this around. Obvious answer - Rams Football.

But also -

Among those I know personally... and as you know it's all Niner and Raider fans, it's regressed to pity. The Rams are perpetually cellar dwellers in their eyes. There will NEVER be a return to the glory days. Pity.

Back when the Ram's were winners they smack talked me, (not my thing, couldn't care less actually), but they loved it. Today it's pity. Pity is worse. As soon as the Ram's start winning they will fire up with the insults, the childish smack talk, and even though I won't be playing their game... it WILL mean the Ram's are back. I am looking forward to it.

Also... the reduction of all the 'warnings' on the board - "Don't get too cocky"... "We don't know a thing yet"... "Ram are years away"... "What can we get in trade for the only player we have that's good?". No, I'm NOT being critical here.. I GET it. Have done it... I just look forward to NOT doing it.

You have no idea, even though you probably think you do laughing smiley , what it's going to be like for me to end the season having a playoff game coming up.. even if it's a wildcard game. PLEASE don't take that as a 'we'll make the playoffs this year' prognostication... I only mean WHEN that happens.

I'm old enough, as are many here, to remember missing the playoffs and while being PI##ed NOT feeling defeated. We'd be back, most likely the following year. Today it almost seems like getting there, just a wildcard, is an achievement akin to landing a man on Mars. An achievement that will require a HOF player at EVERY position, and a HC that makes Bellichick look like a novice. An achievement that will require the same luck as flipping tails 50 times in a row and every other team in the NFL coming down with 10 month duration irritable bowel syndrome. Utter nonsense, in other words... but it still feels that way.. but for me not entirely.

Every gain requires a first step... I choose to believe we've taken it. - JamesJM
