The media needs something to write about.
Both of these teams are well coached, and still present a significant challenge. Don't forget that we have our own storylines, specifically the "Culture of Losing" that we supposedly need to overcome.
It does seem like the future is brighter right now for us and the Niners than for the other two though...looking forward to a renewal of that rivalry.
