And that, my friend, was clearly on Snead and Demoff more than Fisher.
Demoff is the money guy and Snead is the GM and together they should have been responsible for understanding the market for these players and making contract deals.
All Fisher knew was that he didn't want to lose Jenkins, and as he said, he was told that the deal was getting done. That means that either those guys believed they'd get it done and botched it, or they BSed Fisher and did what they wanted. I believe it was the former, but either way Snead and Demoff showed incompetence as FO guys.
And this is the best example of why I was all for dumping Snead and relegating Demoff to totally non-football related functions.
