First off the nickel position doesn't look good to me. I think that's going to be something opposing offenses attack vs this secondary.
Secondly I am not sure Tru is all-in with this staff. IMO he's got too high an opinion of himself, and he knows they're going to play him because they don't have a better option. He also knows he's gonna be well paid in FA regardless of whether it's top money. Early on I expected him to have his best season under Wade, and that still might happen, but I just have to admit I'm a bit concerned by his no-show just like Donald. It's a bad sign when the new staff comes in with a "We Not Me" mantra and the two "top" players aren't there. Selfish IMO.
Won't surprise me if they play well, because it's Wade and because they might have a fearsome pass rush. But it's not ideal by any means, and I don't trust the depth. IMO at best this is a top 10 defense overall, with the quality of the CB position holding them back from higher rankings.
The CB in Nickel is one of the strongest positions the Rams have, and they have two of them. The Rams signed Nickell Robey-Coleman and have Joyner, who could play that if needed, and those two were at the top of the league last year. Honestly, their Nickel might be one of the best in the league.
