We were young, saw domination during the regular season. Then disappointment in the playoffs. To me, the worst was 1977, finally a home game, andcoliseum is a swamp. I knew they were cursed after that.
1975 was far worse, Rams had a home playoff for the NFC Championship Game coming off dismantling of the St. Louis Cardinals and facing the Cowboys getting very lucky on the Hail Mary (first time) pass against the Vikings. Ron Jaworski had Quarterbacked the Rams over the Pittsburgh Steelers on a Monday Night Game at the Coliseum and then played well against the Cardinals.
Knox makes a mistake going with a rusty James Harris and Harris is ineffective early, Knox turns to Jaworski only for it to be too late and the Rams lose 37-7...Tom Dempsey hurt the Rams too that game getting his kicks blocked (low kicks). IMHO, that doomed Knox in the playoffs, he was not as bad as Schottenheimer, but every major decision Knox made in post season always seem to backfire.
