Even though I've never been much on a 'potential talent' player... (somewhat, when they show extraordinary talent) but where in the past I'd be ok with 'mid-round draft' based on potential... now no, never. I was never for a 1st or 2nd round 'potential' draftee.
For me it's been a 'waking up and smelling the coffee' moment. College ball today is AS competitive as the Pro game... if they're ready for the NFL I think it's obviously apparent in their college play. I was still hanging on to the 'it's just college' thing but while that may be true is some cases I think it's rare these days. - JamesJM
Robinson at the time was a consensus top 10 pick.
So if he actually is on the way out, I don't hold it that much against them.
And virtually every high 1st round OL now is a project. It used to be that 1st round OL was the safest pick you could make. Starting around 2013, that got to be less true. GR is not the only 1st round or even high-picked OL who has struggled.
