happened at senior bowl?

kind of wondering.......

he competed

mixed reviews from what I read of that experience for him; was it because he had the situation already?

SENIOR BOWL GRADES: DAVIS WEBB LEADS SOUTH TO VICTORY

Highest-graded players and top takeaways from the Senior Bowl.

PFF ANALYSIS TEAM | 4 MONTHS AGO

Top offensive grades:

C John Toth, 81.8
WR Fred Ross, 74.3
QB Davis Webb, 73.9
HB Jamaal Williams, 71.6
QB Joshua Dobbs, 71.5

Toth demonstrates ground game dominance

John Toth capped a fine career at Kentucky will a brilliant display in his postseason All Star game. He was easily the most impressive lineman on the South squad, flashing impressive athleticism on inside zone-rushing plays in particular.

Toth’s movement skills enable him to make blocks in space. He looks comfortable in the screen game or when required to cut off linebackers at the second level.

Although those particular plays caught the eye, Saturday proved a complete display. Toth’s strength was also evident as he continuously widened lanes on solo blocks in-line.

Offensive line
Kentucky guard/center Jon Toth built on a strong first day and looked very solid playing center and guard. He didn’t look as quick off the snap at center, getting beat once badly on a swim move, but at guard he was a pretty consistent presence, anchoring well and holding off the bull rushes.

He is good sliding down the line to following the action and usually is in the right position, but there are occasions that a powerful defender can get into him and move him back.

Wide Receiver
Cooper Kupp also stood out on Wednesday. Much like Etta-Tawo, he is good while being guarded closely and looks to be a favorite target quickly off the line in slants, outs and stop patterns. Kupp was being used to field punts in a gusty wind and always looked comfortable.

Safety
● Boston College safety Josh Johnson was a player who wasn’t on our radar prior to the Senior Bowl, but he’s very easy to spot during individual drills. He’s probably the smoothest player on the North team when he gets in and out of his breaks, and has very fluid hips.

Johnson doesn’t make too many unnecessary movements to slow him down, and that’s critical for a safety. He looks the part, too, listed at 6-1, 205. Johnson will be someone to watch in the game to see how he tackles and covers in a live situation.

Tues: Toth had his struggles all day long. He was bull-rushed off the line and generally looked poor.
Wed: Toth struggled again. He was run over and beaten on a number of occasions.
Thurs: Once again it was a struggle for Toth. On successive reps he was run over by Montravius Adams, then by Carlos Watkins.

Analysis: Toth struggled every day of practice and was manhandled by the likes of Montravius Adams and Carlos Watkins.

Senior Bowl Day 1
2. I believe there's going to be a Jordan Reed-effect in this year's draft. More teams are going to be looking for those matchup nightmares at tight end -- guys that can create headaches on the perimeter. Ole Miss' Evan Engram and South Alabama's Gerald Everett -- both are tight ends for the South team this week -- can move around and make plays on the perimeter. Both of them showed the ability to run routes and separate on Tuesday. They can make plays over the middle of the field or down the field. When you look in the draft for guys that can create explosive plays at tight end, those two players will come to mind. -- Bucky Brooks

3. Eastern Washington WR Cooper Kupp was the star of the North team on Tuesday. Scouts will get excited about his body control and ability to run routes. I thought he dominated in drills today. He is a very polished player for being a small-school standout. He certainly has entered into the conversation for the first two rounds. -- Bucky Brooks

4. Two other prospects that impressed me on Tuesday at wide receiver -- North Carolina's Ryan Switzer and Texas A&M's Josh Reynolds. Reynolds was impressive because he's a long, smooth strider and good route runner. He had some drops early in warmups, but you can envision him transitioning into being a nice No. 2 receiver in the league. -- Bucky Brooks

MVP
Cal’s graduate transfer QB Davis Webb, who replaced Tennessee’s Josh Dobbs with 6:17 to play in the first half, impressed with 165 yards on 11-16 passing, including a 39-yard touchdown to Texas A&M’s Josh Reynolds on a deep fade late in the 2nd quarter.

3:45 P.M.: Texas A&M receiver Josh Reynolds makes an outstanding grab away from his frame on a comeback route. This is called ‘maximizing your catch radius’ as he fully extends his arms to reel in this throw for a completion along the near sideline. - FD

4:30 P.M.: Josh Reynolds hauls in a touchdown from Davis Webb in the back of the end zone. It was a good route from Reynolds which seemed like a double move live on the field, but he finished well at the catch point in traffic in the back of the end zone on a throw that had some fire on the back end of it from Webb. - FD

Wide Receivers:
This was one of the better groups this week in practice and we could conceivably see 5 or 6 go in the top 100. I don’t see anyone going in the first round and even the top 50 might be a stretch, but Cooper Kupp and Zay Jones both had really good weeks and could push to go late 2nd round.

Kupp is a nice route runner and showed why he’s the all-time leading receiver in the FCS. Jones’ monster Senior Bowl game (even the TDs that were called back will help his grade), coupled with a good week at practice where I thought he had the best hands on either squad, should really boost his stock.

Tight Ends:
There is no doubt that O.J. Howard was the star of the Senior Bowl, and despite coming in as a likely first round pick and possible top 20 selection, he helped himself this week. Not only are those things basically locks right now, but Howard could get legitimate top 10 consideration.

He’s arguably the best pass catching weapon in this class. Engram could push for a top 50 spot as teams are looking for athletic pass catching TEs who can cause major headaches for opposing defenses.

Another TE who fits that mold is Gerald Everett from South Alabama. He’s got a few knocks on him as he has small hands and almost no function as a blocker, but his athleticism and upside will get him drafted high. Despite the smaller hands, Everett catches the ball well and some team could grab him in the top 100.
[fanspeak.com]

Tues: Everett was the second-best tight end for the South on Tuesday, showing strong hands away from his body. He made a great diving catch toward the end of practice, contorting his body in the air to keep the ball from making contact with the ground. Everett also held his own blocking, which was a pleasant surprise.
Wed: Everett didn't quite live up the expectations he set on Day 1 as a pass-catcher, but he continued to move well and displayed good hands.
Thurs: Everett missed Thursday's practice due to injury.

Analysis: During the two days Everett practiced, he showed himself to be a competent pass-catcher with the ability to break long plays. Fluid and natural, he caught everything thrown in his direction and held his own blocking.
