I mean maybe McVay is still blowing smoke for some reason but he has been overly positive about Tavon Austin.
We'll see what happens but unless he gets injured he will always have a job. I feel like I am looking at a Ferrari and other people are downing it because its not an automatic. I don't know why there can't have some patience and see if McVay can drive a manual transmission. Jeez unemployment line????
I'm excited that Tavon Austin finally has a proven OC. I'm excited for the entire offense, including the board punching bag, G Rob. Perhaps it doesn't matter who the coach is but a lot of people were down on Fisher (and staff and their collective inept coaching) for running a grade school offense but are also thinking that the players won't improve with better coaching and a more modern scheme.
Why not wait and see what happens? You can hear the excitement in McVay's voice when he talks about Austin. Maybe it won't work out and then your fears would be justified. But I won't pat you or anyone else for predicting a Rams player's failure. But I do agree that this is Tavon's last chance with the Rams. If McVay can't do it then he will have to go but I feel certain that other OC's will want Austin. If he ends up flipping burgers then I guess you were right.
I enjoy your normally positive posts, so it just takes me by surprise a bit that we would see this issue so differently. As for TA not having a traditional spot in the offense... Good. As it should be. But if Mcvay can get some DJax production out of him, then ll the better.
